Nike SB Omar Salazar Shoe Launch
From his early days as an amateur from Northern California, to his rise as one of skateboarding’s most original and inspirational professionals, one thing has always been clear about Omar Salazar: the energy he brings with his raw and creative style of skating is truly one of a kind. After years of mind-bending video parts and magazine coverage, Nike SB is proud to announce the release of Omar Salazar’s first pro model shoe, the Zoom Omar Salazar SB.
Omar officially joined the Nike SB team in 2005 after a year of skating in what was the most technical shoe in our line, the Zoom E-Cue. As one of our first ams, Omar preferred the shoe for its comfort and durability and has since skated in nearly every shoe we’ve made. For his own model he worked with footwear designer James Arizumi to create a technically advanced mid-top that gives a nod to classic skate shoe silhouettes.
“I wanted a shoe that had a classic look and feel but also included Nike’s technology and DNA. When you look at it from far away it looks familiar, but up close you notice all the custom details that I wanted to include in my signature shoe,” said Salazar.
For the first time ever, proprietary Nike Flywire technology has been applied to a skate shoe and results in superior heel lock and stability, while reducing weight. Omar’s nickname “Outer Space” gets the royal treatment with a space-themed outsole tread that features a thin, flexible rubber edge for a vulc-like flick. And last but not least, a hidden tongue pocket allows you to adjust the shoe’s tongue thickness.
To honor the shoe’s release, Jon Humphries and Jason Hernandez created a special video shot at a top-secret location this past winter.

Visit To Work In Progress Showroom, London
The Work in Progress Office in London takes care of Carhartt, Pointer and Edwin brands in the Uk.
I spent most of the day there to view the new ranges for Autumn / Fall 2010. Gary made a pile on the floor of Carhartt items we thought looked good for Flatspot and then had a really good grilled Halloumi sandwich. Talking deep about local curb spots between size breaks.
Pointer are moving more of there shoes to their premium factory in portugal including the Cyril and Crago which are looking much improved both in terms of build and fabrics.
Edwin continue to expand and improve their non jeans range, i saw some waffle and knitted crews that i thought could work plus some shirts, still plaid but rad. For those who have seen the checks enough
there will be shirts in denim, oxford, chambray and other block colour cottons for the coming season too.
Shop at Flatspot for Edwin Jeans, Pointer and Carhartt
Visit to the @PenfieldUSA Showroom in London
Its an easy buy these days as the product is getting really good from Penfield, too many jackets to choose from. They got Clae footwear and Happy Socks ( they are swedish you know ) in there too. I like the collection of vintage mountain and outdoor related items that grows each time i visit. Its also customary for Ross to buy me lunch from the greasy spoon, although this time trying to order the healthier option of a bake potato backfired as we had to wait for the full cook on micro power. For sure the Fall 2010 range Penfield is looking really solid but in the meantime our Spring order will be delivered to us soon.
