Nike SB Dunk Low Pro 'Barcelona'
A tribute to Catalonian culture, sporting citation and artistic influence; the Nike SB ‘Barcelona’ Dunk. Styled with reference to both Nike SB’ latest ‘Community of Art’ and ‘Community of Sport’ packs that turn to the city of Barcelona for inspiration, these referential Nike Dunks arrive as the latest courtside remastering for 2021 to join recent releases such as the Dunk Low Pro ‘ACG Terra’ and the collaborative FTC Dunk Low Pro in their ode to creativity and bold, block tone palettes.

With a nationalistic mismatched colourway that references both the Estelada Blava (Catalonian Independence) flag and the team kit colourings of the iconic Barça football club, the Nike SB ‘Barcelona’ Dunk remains true to its provincial namesake as it honours the autonomous Spanish community. Keeping the coastal city at the core of its design, Nike SB’s latest Dunk Low instalment arrives as a complement to the similarly coloured apparel from their latest ‘Community of Art’ pack. Inspired by Barcelona’s communal art spaces, such as ArtSpace Barcelona and Fase, the deep toned skate shoe also follows in the footsteps of similar patriotic releases such as the bordering French Flag Nike SB Dunk High Premium from 2016 and the iconic Nike SB "SNT" Barcelona Team Edition from 2006 that paid creative tribute to the city’s Sant Station, a popular skate spot for many since it originally featured in Transworld Skateboarding Magazine back in ‘94.
Styled with asymmetric brushed suede uppers and resilient overlays in shades of deep burgundy and navy, a subtle reflection of the internationally renowned FC Barcelona team kit, the Nike SB ‘Barcelona’ Dunk hosts a resilient composure that maintains all the creative charm associated with its ageless courtside lineage. A full length cupsole stitching complements the crisp white midsole to provide added strength and structure to the gum rubber outsole, whilst the grippy circular underfoot tread is designed to tackle adverse terrains without hesitation. As with all Dunk Low revisions, a performative Zoom Air unit can be found across the insole to deliver a cushioned and impact absorbent day on day skate, whilst the perforated toe box ensures increased air flow and circulation across each block tone coloured forefoot. Interchangeable puffy laces in shades of blue, red and yellow honour the continued colourings of the iconic Senyara flag and the regal yellow leather sidewall Swooshes, whilst the breathable mesh ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Pro’ tab labelled tongue is styled in corresponding shades of blue across the right foot and red across the left foot. A padded collar supplies additional protection across the rear, whilst gold stitch embroidered ‘Nike’ heel branding remains a testament to tradition across each mix match colourway.
Dubbed Europe’s skate capital and capturing the colourful charm associated with Barça’s ‘equip blaugrana’ team kit colourway, this cross sport and cross cultural release effortlessly captures Nike SB’s authentic ability to combine patriotic reference with a love for out-the-box originality and unrivalled ideational creativity.
