Nike SB Orange Label Dunk Low Pro
Released as a skate store ‘Orange Label’ exclusive in selected UK and US locations whilst coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 90, this edition of the Nike SB Orange Label Dunk Low Pro Shoes feature bursts of vivid ‘infrared’ which was seen on the previously mentioned Air Max 90 and on a significant all black Air Jordan 6. In association with the ‘Support Your Local Skate Store’ initiative, we have a select number of the Nike SB Orange Label Dunk Low Pro Shoes available through our flatspot.releases site.
Not showing any signs of slowing, an ongoing trend for desirable re-releases from the ‘80s and ‘90s saw the Air Jordan 6 re-introduced last year as a replica of the original late 90’s design, promoted by Michael Jordan himself who wore the shoe whilst the Chicago Bulls won their first NBA Championship in 1991. Likewise, this retro inspired colourway of the Dunk Low Pro highlights two of the models most significant details - the exaggerated tongue and outsole - with pops of infrared against smooth neutral grey suede uppers. A solid black leather overlay starts at the top of the laces border before wrapping around the back of the heel and cool grey elongated Swoosh ticks sit on top on either side of the foot. A white mesh insert within the toe vamp continues upwards across the top of the cushioned tongue which has an infrared piped edge and a matching woven label that shows typical Nike SB branding, a set of black and white laces arrive with each style. Around the back of the heel a curved leather tab sits below the edge of the padded ankle collar where capitalised black ‘Nike’ lettering has been applied on top. Throughout the inside of the shoe a soft white mesh lining has been added for comfort alongside a Zoom Air unit within the sockliner. For an impressive level of grip against your board, the white gum outsole is flexible and holds the bright infrared tread which has been designed with a variety of patterns surrounding a forefoot pivot circle.
Introduced in 2019, the Nike SB Orange Label project looks to the DNA of the Nike brand to reimagine some of their best loved footwear models such as; the Bruin, Blazer Mid, Dunk Low and Gato - with premium materials, skate-driven performance features and custom details. The likes of Ishod Wair and Oskar Rozenberg have been involved within the project to create their own signature styles that reflect their individual personalities with shark emblems and split mesh designs. Signifying that the Orange Label is set to continue throughout 2020, these Nike SB Orange Label Dunk Low Pro Shoes have set the tone for the year which is sure to include an array of reintroduced OG models that offer a piece of history to those who couldn’t cop a pair the first time around.
