In February 2020 the Nike SB x Travis Scott Dunk Low made history as one of the most hyped releases of all time and was followed by the Nike SB Dunk ‘Safari’, a modern interpretation of two old school styles. Encouraging DIY customisation, the Nike SB Hack Pack was also introduced at the start of the year and included Blazer Mid Edge and Bruin Edge models accompanied by stencils that encouraged personalisation and creativity.

For adidas skateboarding this year marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Superstar shoe, and in celebration team riders such as Blondey McCoy and the legendary Mark ‘The Gonz’ Gonzales have reimaged the design with their own creative vision as part of the ongoing adidas Rider Series. Introduced in the last few years, the adidas City Cup, Busenitz and mostly recently the Copa Nationale all take cues from adidas’ heritage football boot styles and adapt them to suit modern day skate needs and for those who want to celebrate communities, crews and collectives, the adidas 3MC project does just that with each new release.


Vans continues to be a go-to brand for anyone who favours nostalgic footwear with a rich heritage. As the most celebrated style from the brands extensive library, the Vans Old Skool has acted as a base for contemporary designs such as the Vans AVE and Slip-On Pro which both utilise new technology such as RapidWeld fusing for lightweight, stitchless uppers.


Similarly, Converse has also maintained their allure over time by working with the best riders in the business such as Jake Johnson and Louie Lopez who both have their own signature pro models that incorporate the best elements of classic Converse footwear across Pro Ox, CTAS and Jack Purcell silhouettes.


New Balance’s Numeric line incorporates the personalities of selected team riders such as Tom Knox and Jamie Foy for their offering of performance focused pro models which have been crafted with ‘Ndurance’ rubber outsoles and hard wearing fabrics chosen for their ability to stand up to repetitive abrasions, complete with the distinctive ‘N’ emblem on either side of the foot as a sign of quality and performance.
