Launched in ‘81, Thrasher Magazine continues to be known as the longest running, best-selling skate magazine of all time.Founded by skaters Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello and based in San Francisco, Thrasher has grown exponentially to become home to over 250,000 readers across both their digital and print platforms. Loyal to their own ‘Skate and Destroy’ mantra, the magazine still remains to be one of the most prominent resources for skateboarding news. Known for their interviews, letters to the editor and iconic photography, Thrasher’s legacy continues to evolve. Regularly working alongside skaters including Rowan Davis, Antonio Durao and Yuto Horigome, with series edits including UN Plaza, Thrasher Vacation and Thrasher Weekend, and collaborations including those with the likes of adidas, Fucking Awesome and Vans. Thrasher remains to be seen as an iconic publication that continues to chronicle the evolution of skate culture through a skater’s perspective, enriched also by the creative legacy of the late Jake Phelps.
