A brand that celebrates skate for its creative nature and explorative ‘state of mind’ ethos more so than its ties to sporting accolades, by Parra sibling brand Tired Skateboards captures the very essence of skate culture through their eclectic spirit and their expressive aesthetic. Launched in and around 2014 by Dutch designer Pieter ‘Parra’ Janssen and professional skater Brad Staba, Tired represents a growing corner of the market dedicated to custom-prints, abstract artwork and a curious sense of nostalgia. Following in the footsteps of sister-brand and Amsterdam-based by Parra, Tired continues to turn to throwback ‘90s undertones and artistic prints, whilst their quick-fire short forms, such as their ‘Tired 2020’, ‘To Hell and Back’ and latest ‘NEIN’ edit from December ‘21 serves lighthearted skate nonsense well-suited to ‘die-hards that love skateboarding’ and to those just looking to have a good time. Known also for their 2021 collaboration with Thrasher Magazine that celebrated the third anniversary of their ‘Tired and Destroyed’ release that featured the likes of Tim Cisilino, Thomas Meriot, Jessica Krause and Bo Mitchell.
